The news came from the special general meeting of BCCI on Saturday. The news has been confirmed by almost all the media in India, including the popular cricket-based website CricBuzz. The BCCI meeting is still going on. An official statement will be given at the end of this meeting.

The IPL was postponed on May 4 due to the outbreak of coronavirus in India. Until then, 29 matches were played on the field, the remaining 31 matches were at the end of the event. It has been decided to hold the tournament in the United Arab Emirates as the situation in India has not improved.

The BCCI wants to start the rest of the IPL matches in September-October after India’s tour of England. But then they are hesitant to find foreign players. Despite getting a few of the Australian cricketers, the organizers are uncertain about the players in England and New Zealand.

Meanwhile, the same meeting also discussed the upcoming T20 World Cup. India is still the host country of the World Cup. But if the situation in their country does not improve, they will have no choice but to relocate. However, the BCCI is not able to decide on this right now.

They will ask the ICC for some more time to monitor the situation before making a final decision on the World Cup. It seems that India will be forced to move the T20 World Cup to the UAE like the IPL.
